Together with IATEFL LA SIG, the Applied Linguistics-Didactics Section of the Dept. of Anglophone Studies at the University of Duisburg-Essen will host a one-day conference on autonomy in language learning.

Considering the fact that learner autonomy is a relevant topic in all kinds of language learning and teaching scenarios, sub groups with the following foci might be formed: Technology in Language Learning, CLIL, Young Learners, Learner Autonomy and Related Concepts, Teacher Training and Learner Autonomy in the Tertiary Sector.

As the title suggests, success stories as well as more critical contributions are very welcome. This one-day conference "Involving language learners: success stories and constraints" intends to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences between scholars, practitioners and students.

We would like to invite you to discuss your ideas and experiences concerning learner autonomy and its practical implications with us. There will also be workshops for more in-depth discussions.

Cancellations before 21 September 2010 will incur a 50% cancellation charge. Cancellations after this date will not be refunded. All bank charges must be paid by the delegate.
