The aim of this scheme is to offer our Associates the opportunity to bid for small grants that will enable them to make a difference to language learning in their local context that would not be possible without this support.
This is part of IATEFLís mission to link, develop and support English language teaching professionals worldwide. It is expected that a project will reach a broad community of English language teachers and give the opportunity for less experienced teachers to take an active role. As a part of the proposal it must be made clear how the outcomes will be evaluated and disseminated.

The Wider Membership Individual Scheme aims to help teachers living in countries where there are no Associates of IATEFL, and where therefore, they can not take part in the original Wider Membership Scheme, to join IATEFL. The WMIS was started by leading members of the profession who kindly donated money in order to provide subsidised memberships to those unable to access affordable professional development. This money was then matched by IATEFL and through donations from our members.
Some of those who have received WMIS funding have then gone on to set up Teaching Associations in their own country and are enabling tangible improvements in English language teaching in parts of the world that need the most support.
Donating today can help an individual teacher in less fortunate circumstances to become a full IATEFL member and join our community.
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can boost your donation by
25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate. Gift Aid is reclaimed
by the charity from the tax you pay for the current tax year.
